Englewood: love the place and its gorgeous grounds, pool, beautiful, sandy beaches on Manasota Key, sharks teeth, eagle's nests and fledglings along with gopher tortoises at the Lemon Bay Environmental Center, plus birds galore including bright green feral parrots originating in the Amazon... What a treat! The only thing I would have asked for is an antenna on the TV. It had Roku, but with no antenna we could not get the national or local evening news plus no NCAA tournament game were available. To sum it up though, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. David Young of Conch rentals/Manasota key realty hired my woman owned and operated small business on 09/06/24. He had to have fire extinguishers installed in Anglers Resort numbers 14,3,17,4,11a and 12. Although I was coming from 12th street in Sarasota I only charged a 25$ service call. I also installed all the extinguishers and did the first year's annual for free. I have now been reaching out since September, begging to be paid. I have texted, called, left voicemails, and emailed the invoice at least 15 times. David will no longer return or answer ANY communications from me, and the messages left with Carla and the other folks in the office also go without an answer. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!! They hire local small companies and then don't pay them. This took food off my sons plate. I paid for the materials, time, labor, and even their state sales tax! This invoice could have been paid with approximately 2-3 nights rental in just 1 of the above units that they own, instead they choose this....... ( FYI - This invoice was already Past due before the time the major hurricane hit englewood) UPDATE: Ended up driving all the way to Englewood (my gas,my time) due to nobody caring enough to call me back. Needless to say they have a huge beautiful building and can most definitely afford to pay me. Spoke to Lance. He claims he had no idea that this was an issue.. (a total lie) then proceed to give me information for a completely different company that needs to pay the invoice even though they hired me, said he would contact them in advance of me calling them. (He most definitely did not, she was clueless when I called) Today I will report Manasonta key realty/conch realty to the BBB. Update: As it turns out Lance is the owners son and most definitely was aware of this invoice. He lied when he told me to call that other company, he knew the invoice belonged to him and his parents. He threw the women in the office under the bus instead of being a man and taking responsibility We finally received payment last week (Feb 18th). It was clean but very dated, old stained Tupperware, very worn couch, several lights didn't work, there was a very creepy stuffed cat left in the closet. On the positive, the pool was amazing, the location was perfect, having a little back sitting area was a bonus. Being able to shuttle to the restaurants was great.
